About
Stephen Alan Wynn, Steve, is an American entrepreneur, philanthropist, and art collector, renowned for pioneering the integrated resort concept and his transformative impact on the luxury hospitality and gaming industries.
A pivotal figure in the redevelopment of the Las Vegas Strip during the 1990s, he played a key role in shaping it into the world-famous destination it is today.
Steve’s career began in 1967 with his acquisition of a stake in the Frontier Hotel and Casino, the start of his lifelong commitment to the industry. He went on to buy a controlling stake in one of Vegas’ oldest casinos, the Golden Nugget, becoming the youngest casino owner in Las Vegas.
After revitalising the Golden Nugget, he developed iconic properties including The Mirage, Treasure Island and Bellagio in Las Vegas, as well as the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City and Beau Rivage in Mississippi. Under his leadership at Mirage Resorts, each property dominated the market upon opening.
After selling Mirage Resorts in 2000, Steve founded Wynn Resorts, creating a portfolio of luxurious properties such as Wynn Las Vegas, Encore Las Vegas, Wynn Macau, Wynn Palace in Cotai, and Encore Boston Harbor, earning more Forbes Five-Star Awards than any other independent hotel company in the world.
Steve has been happily married to his wife Andrea since 2011. They enjoy life together at their home in Palm Beach, Florida, with their beloved German Shepherd, Vulcan.
Beyond his contributions to real estate and construction, Steve is an art collector and dedicated philanthropist. Steve has assembled one of the most remarkable private art collections in the United States and his collection features some of the most significant artworks of the 20th century, including masterpieces by Vermeer, Monet, Matisse, Cézanne, Picasso, and Warhol.
